Schachnovelle

I created an editorial illustration for Schachnovelle by Stefan Zweig, published by Büchergilde Gutenberg. The work explores the psychological tension of Zweig’s story — a man trapped between genius and madness, between chess as a refuge and as a haunting obsession. The illustration and book design evoke confinement and mental movement through spatial composition, texture, and rhythm — reflecting the claustrophobic intellect of Dr. B. aboard the ship.
